Monthly Moos from Woody!

We have arrived in Italia, the small town of Bormio in the northern Alpes a few miles from the Swiss border. I am living closer to a working farm and cows than at home. The tractor starts running early and the cows, both holstein and brown swiss bellow frequently. the odor is quite familiar. We've only been here three days and, despite one son wanting to go home, we are beginning to adjust. My Italian language skills are basic, but I can understand most of what is spoken to me. The boys begin their language lessons net week to prepare for school starting in three weeks. the mountains are beautiful and the hiking is glorious, with great mountain hostels for eating after a short walk. We hiked up to an enormous glacier yesterday. Cows were grazing high up the mountain. I am visualizing some fun paintings, but I'm on vacation until school starts and I get a studio.
